What is the cost for therapy?Individual sessions (in-person or virtual) - $160 per 50-minute session Free 20-minute consultations calls are available. Services are eligible to be reimbursed by most extended health benefit plans. Please check with your employer. Sorry, but direct billing to insurance companies is not provided by Pivotal Counseling.

What type of counseling do you offer?We provide specialized, integrative psychotherapy for adults (18+) using a variety of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT),Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT),Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT),Narrative Therapy,Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Walking Therapy.

Who can seek counseling at Pivotal Counseling?We provide professional support for men, women and couples ages 18 and up. Also, we are proud to support clients from a broad range of social, cultural and religious backgrounds.

Do you offer in-person and virtual sessions?Yes, Pivotal Counseling offers both in-person and virtual sessions.

Do you offer sessions for couples, children, teens, and seniors?Pivotal Counseling offers both individual and couples therapy for adults (aged 18+). We do not offer therapy for children and teens at this time.

Do I need a referral from a family doctor in order to see a therapist?No, referrals are not required

Are psychotherapy services covered by OHIP?No, they are not.

Will my work insurance cover the cost of psychotherapy?There is a very good chance that it will. Clients with extended health benefits may be eligible for reimbursement of service fees, depending on your provider and plan. Please check with your provider to see if you have coverage.

Are the sessions confidential?Anything that is discussed in session is confidential. This means that without your permission, nothing can be shared with anyone else. The only exceptions to this are: · If there is a belief that you or someone else is in imminent danger · If a minor or elderly person is being abused · If we become aware that another professional has engaged in misconduct · If we are subpoenaed (requested) by a court to produce records We take your privacy very seriously at Pivotal counseling.
