Tej (rhymes with ‘page’) has over two decades’ experience working in both corporate and client-facing roles in the health care field.

Meet Tej :

Her educational background includes undergraduate studies at the Ivey School of Business, an MBA from City University in London, as well as a Masters in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University. Further to this, Tej has also obtained certification as both a Chartered Professional Accountant and a Project Management Professional.
Tej became interested in psychology after a life-changing experience receiving therapy in her 30’s. After 20 years working as an accountant, market analyst, project manager, and consultant in the pharmaceutical industry, Tej pivoted to a more hands-on role as a Registered Psychotherapist. Tej’s combination of counselling skills and lived experience gives her a unique perspective as she supports a wide range of clients ages 18+.

Tej takes a client-centred, integrative approach with clients, personalizing each therapy session at our Oakville clinic in a safe, accepting, non-judgmental, trusting manner. This combination of warmth and wisdom forms the basis of Tej’s care as she serves as a trusted, female therapist in Oakville. Tej uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and Walking Therapy.
Tej is a proud member of both the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario, as well as the Ontario Association of Mental Health Professionals.
On the personal side, she enjoys spending time with her teenage son and activities such as yoga, travel, and baking. She cherishes outdoor time spent hiking or playing golf, and is not afraid to admit that she is a fan of very bad reality television.

Katelyn Matias

(she/her)

She has several years of experience supporting individuals and couples across a wide range of clinical concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, emotional regulation difficulties, psychotic disorders, and relationship distress.
Her interest in psychotherapy is rooted in a deep appreciation for the complexity of human relationships, attachment, and the impact of life experiences on emotional well-being. Through her work, she has developed a strong focus on helping clients understand how early experiences, relational injuries, and nervous system responses shape current patterns of behaviour, emotion, and connection. She supports individuals aged 18+ and couples navigating challenges such as communication difficulties, emotional disconnection, infidelity, fertility-related stress, life transitions, identity development, and self-esteem concerns.
She takes a client-centred, integrative, and trauma-informed approach, creating a safe, structured, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients can explore their concerns with clarity and purpose. Grounded in an attachment-based lens, therapy is personalized to each client’s goals, values, and presenting concerns, with an emphasis on evidence-based practice, measurable change, and emotional safety. With couples, her work focuses on identifying and de-escalating negative interaction cycles, strengthening communication, fostering secure attachment, and rebuilding trust. With individuals, she supports the development of self-awareness, emotional regulation skills, and psychological flexibility.
She uses a variety of therapeutic approaches, including Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), mindfulness-based interventions, attachment-based therapy, person-centred therapy, and solution-focused therapy.

On the personal side, she values balance, connection, and family life as essential components of well-being. She is married and a parent of two children, experiences that inform her understanding of relationships, attachment, and the realities of navigating family systems across different life stages. She shares her home with three dogs and two cats and enjoys spending time outdoors exploring hiking trails and beaches. These experiences support her holistic perspective on mental health, resilience, and sustainable self-care.
